In this fun workshop we will walk through each step together. From creating the quilting designs on paper to stitching it out based on your skill level. For those that are concerned about their quilting skills, there is a design for everyone.
This is more than just quilting a vintage hankie workshop. You are taking a design class as well as a hands on quilting workshop where no two pieces will be alike. This is where your skills and my experience collide to make a "one of kind" vintage art piece. You will leave with a almost completed piece.
Vintage hankies are the perfect place to start and soon you will be quilting on beautiful family heirlooms and fiber gems you collect along the way. These pieces make wonderful wedding, anniversary & birthday gifts or to have new life on a vintage piece in your home! If you have hankies that have been tucked away or are the person that loves linens from antiques shops and estate sales--You will Love this workshop!
Vintage Hankie kits will be available to purchase at the workshop-$25.00. I have gathered all the fabric supplies for you!
However you can supply your own materials (detailed list will be sent to person organizing event). If you are new to sewing on vintage pieces I do not suggest using a family heirloom the first time.
You are more than welcome to supply your own supplies (see supply list) and to bring a personal hankie, table scarf etc. that is not larger than 16 inch by 16 inch, however it can be smaller.
*The only fabric you will need, if you purchase a kit is for the binding and sleeve.
For those wishing to purchase vintage pieces that are ready for future creations, I will have after the class for a nominal fee.
